Dr. Greg Whisman

Interim Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Whisman is the Interim Chief Medical Officer of Carelon Health, a national Advanced Primary Care organization and subsidiary of Elevance Health. Dr. Whisman oversees the medical staff and the management services organization responsible for care delivery for the chronic, complex patients Carelon Health services. Dr. Whisman has an extensive career in population health and value-based care. He previously served Regional Vice President, Medical Director of the Central Region Medicare for Anthem, a region encompassing eight states and over 700,000 members. Additionally, he served as the Vice President, Senior Medical Director for OhioHealth Group and the OhioHealth Group Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), a collective of approximately 3,200 providers managing valued-based arrangements with payers for 350,000 covered lives.

Dr. Whisman received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and completed his residency in Family Medicine at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital. He earned a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Operations Management from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.
